Just months after reopening following a lengthy restoration, the historic House of Rémy Martin has been awarded the Best of Wine Tourism international prize for its exceptional tour and a gold award in the art and culture category. This title was awarded to Rémy Martin House Tour for the Global Best of Wine Tourism Award which was held in Verona on October 24.
An exceptional experience
In April 2024, to coincide with its 300th anniversary, the Rémy Martin House in the heart of Cognac reopened its doors to the public. Transformed after 3 years of renovation, and as part of a more global project on the Rémy Martin Estates leaded by INCA Architectes agency, the tour invites visitors on an extraordinary journey through three centuries of history.
A Permanent Exhibition
A 500m² permanent exhibition featuring 250 objects and documents from the archives recounts the family saga through cultural events dating back to its foundation in 1724. An immersive multimedia scenography split on 3 different levels brings key moments in the history of Rémy Martin to life, such as the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900, or the meal served to British monarchs in the Hall of Mirrors in 1938. Inspirational artworks act as guides throughout the years: authentic 18th century engravings, a 1930s poster by Robert Wolf, iconic ‘60s reportage and a contemporary mobile by Charles Kaisin featuring 1,724 gilded centaurs.
A Digital Art Experience
The House offers 3 digital art experiences too: one pays tribute to the rich world of Rémy Martin cognacs through a swirling, unfurling, interactive show in a room equipped with 8 screens behind two-way mirrors and niches displaying the bottles. Another is reserved for LOUIS XIII and the third takes place in the 19th century Francis Cellar: through projections on the barrels and the cathedral ceiling, visitors are plunged into all the stages of cognac production, from vine to glass: a 5-minute sound and light extravaganza.

AN AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Created by the Global Network of Great Wine Capitals in 2004, the Best of Wine Tourism awards recognizes sites that “redefine standards to offer a memorable and responsible wine tourism experience” and are considered the benchmark of excellence in the wine tourism sector. They are alloctated each year by a panel of judges who carry out mystery visits in 12 well-known wine regions worldwide.
This year, 105 entries were recieving in 7 categories for the Best of wine tourism competition in the Bordeaux-Nouvelle Aquitaine region. 24 sites were awarded and just 7 obtained a gold distinction, including the House of Rémy Martin. Out of the 6 Cognac Houses that entered the competition, only Rémy Martin received stellar recognition.
‘Best of Wine Tourism’ Awards
On October 25, during the gala evening that closed the Great Wine Capitals Network Annual International Conference in Verona, Italy, Maison Rémy Martin won the international “Best Of Wine Tourism” award for the Bordeaux/France wine region. This competition aims to reward innovation and excellence in wine tourism and Rémy Martin is the first Cognac house to win this prestigious international award.
On October 7, Rémy Martin’s historic home was awarded the regional “Best Of Wine Tourism” award in Bordeaux, a gold medal in the Art and Culture category. Through the quality of its tours and its recognized expertise, Maison Rémy Martin is now one of the most attractive wine tourism sites in the world of excellent spirits. From November 4 to 18, voting will be open to the public to elect the winners of the “People’s Choice Awards”.
