The House of Rémy Martin’s story was written by audacious and spirited men and women – and it will continue to be so.

1724

Rémy Martin, a young winegrower in Cognac, begins selling cognac under his own name.

1738

King Louis XV of France grants Rémy Martin the rare right to plant new vines in recognition of the excellence of his cognacs.

PAUL-ÉMILE RÉMY MARTIN

Paul-Emile Rémy Martin took the house and its cognacs beyond Europe into the United States, Asia, and the Pacific.

The first Rémy Martin Grande Champagne cognac is created.

1870

To accompany the House’s development abroad, he chooses the Centaur as the House’s emblem, creating the very first logo. An avid astronomer, it was also his star sign, Sagittarius.

1910

Goes into partnership with André Renaud and starts to develop the House’s full potential.

ANDRÉ RENAUD

In 1924, André Renaud becomes the first Cellar Master of the House, and later becomes Chairman.

Rémy Martin Fine Champagne Cognac VSOP is launched, created by blending Petite Champagne and Grande Champagne crus. It stands out for its superior quality, making it an immediate success.

FINE CHAMPAGNE COGNAC IS LEGALLY RECOGNIZED FOR ITS SUPERIOR QUALITY.

André Renaud decides that the House should exclusively produce cognac made from Petite Champagne and Grande Champagne crus.

ANDRÉ HÉRIARD DUBREUIL

As son-in-law to André Renaud, André Hériard Dubreuil takes the reins as Chairman and launches a visionary partnership with winegrowers, today known as the Alliance Fine Champagne, to guarantee the highest quality.

The now iconic black frosted VSOP bottle is devised.

Due to unprecedented demand, Rémy Martin XO, the epitome of opulence and sophistication, is created.

1738 Accord Royal is created, in tribute to the royal privilege once bestowed upon Rémy Martin by Louis XV of France.

PIERRETTE TRICHET

The first woman to be appointed Cellar Master to a major cognac house. She creates Centaure and Centaure de Diamant, and imparts the secrets of the Rémy Martin legacy onto Baptiste Loiseau, just as Georges Clot passed these onto her.

The actions carried out by Rémy Martin Estates in favor of a sustainable agricultural approach are recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture.

2012

The Rémy Martin Estates are the first winegrowing estates in the Charente region (and sixth in France) to obtain the “High Environmental Value” (HVE) certification, recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture.

BAPTISTE LOISEAU

Born and bred in Cognac, and passionate about the local terroir as well as traveling to new lands, Baptiste Loiseau becomes the Cellar Master for the next generation, ready to take Rémy Martin forward into a bright future.

Rémy Martin Tercet was launched for the US and Chinese markets. Rémy Martin Tercet is a unique Cognac Fine Champagne blended from aromatic eaux-de-vie with notes of fresh and exotic fruits. Reflecting the House style, Tercet lights up a new path for cognac.

We have achieved and even exceeded the environmental objectives set by the House:
100% of our partners are dedicated to sustainable winegrowing. 50% of our partner winegrowing areas are already HVE certified, a goal we had originally set for 2022.
